Pinterest

Every single year, I pledge that I will complete all of my Christmas Shopping before December 1st & every single year, without fail, I always manage to absolutely do this NEVER. However, I think I’ve managed to solve my little Christmas Conundrum this year because – spoiler alert friends & family – I’ve pretty much decided that almost everyone on my list will be receiving a JORD Watch! REJOICE! World’s CUTEST Hot Chocolate

“Chocolate is cheaper than therapy, & you don’t need an appointment”

Catherine Aitken

Okay so this overly inflated Blog Title may or may not be a slight exaggeration, but this mason jar hot chocolate is pretty darn cute, is it not? I wish that I could take credit for this adorable DIY, but truth be told I was totally inspired by my Aunt Liz, whom is essentially Martha Stewart 2.0. Every year around Christmas, my Aunt gives out these cookie/baked goods recipes in mason jars to friends & family, & they are just SUCH a hit.. so I thought I’d try my hand at a hot chocolate version! This is a super easy & cost-effective hostess gift with the most perfect personal touch! Enjoy! (more…)

2015 Holiday Gift Guide: For the Health Lover

“The excellence of a gift lies in its appropriateness rather than its value”

Charles Dudley Warner

As I oh so humbly mentioned last year.. I am a ROCK STAR gift giver! No lie, it’s actually the one thing that I’m always complimented on (random but true). I take pride in giving gifts & I generally like to stick to my totally foolproof rule when it comes to picking out presents for family members or significant others. It’s my “three small item” law: 1) a “want” 2) a “need” & 3) something “sentimental“. The “sentimental” is always my absolute favourite!! In the past I’ve done framed pictures of special moments, handwritten notes & collages! But today, it’s all about the “wants” & “needs“… so here are some of my picks for the health lover in your life!  (more…)

Winter Activities for the Holidays

“My favourite winter activity is going back inside & putting my pajamas on”

– Anonymous

Happy Friday & Happy Holidays people, because today officially marks the first day of Christmas break for kiddos across Ontario!! Do you remember getting that rush at the 3pm bell?! Pure & utter bliss. But although kids near & far may be rejoicing, parents often dread having to keep up with their candy-cane, sugar riddled children for two straight weeks. I therefore wanted to put together a short list of fun, winter activities designed to not only keep the kids busy, but also tips on how to keep fit for the average person over the holidays! Not to mention that keeping a regular fitness schedule & engaging in winter related activities can help combat the “winter blues”! ENJOY!  (more…)

Health Benefits of Your Holiday Favourites

“Eat, drink, & be merry”

What comes to mind when you think of the holidays? Spending quality time with family & friends typically rank at the top of the list, however a close second has to be the traditional holiday treats & feasts. Admittedly, the majority of  my holidays are spent eating a little too much & working out a lot less (leggings just so happen to be my very best friend during the holidays… well, any stretchy pant-like material really). Holiday food is the absolute BEST (I could practically drink cranberry sauce) & it’s even better because you get to enjoy it with your closest friends, family, & loved ones. The downside? Holiday feasts often contain a hefty amount of calories, so come New Years Eve I’m often struggling to squeeze into whatever outfit I have planned for the evening. Therefore I thought I’d list a few health benefits of some classic holiday favourites – so now you don’t have to feel so bad at the family dinner table!  😉 (more…)
