Believe it or not, I actually prefer winter cottaging to summer cottaging… GASP – say it ain’t so?! It is “so” my friends, it is VERY so! Contrary to popular opinion, I find there to be so much MORE to do up North during the winter months in comparison to your quintessential hot “Cottage Season” that us Canucks have grown oh so very fond of – but  honestly, it was literally SO freakin’ hard to narrow the below list down to just 10 winter activities I swear to you! So I challenge you all to switch up your mindset just a little bit & embrace all that winter season up North at the cottage has to offer! Beet, Carrot, & Ginger Soup

I’ve got a thing for beets. Correction, I’ve always had a thing for beets. You know when you’d go visit your grandmother as a kid & she’d make your absolute favourite dish? Baked apple pie, waffles, cookies… pretty standard stuff. Well my dish of choice was pickled beets. Yes. I love all things fall. Fashion, weather, food, festivities.. I love it all! Call me crazy, but I’m not one to complain when summer comes to an end & the leaves begin to change because fall just so happens to be my absolute favourite season (winter.. now that’s a whole other story). Ginger & Pear Smoothie

Summer’s coming to an end & as tans & temperatures begin to fade, so does our body’s immune system. Yes fellow health nuts, cold & flu season is fast approaching armed with sniffles, coughs, & various bodily fluids of all different colours, textures, & smells.
