As some of you may know, one of my New Year’s goals for 2015 is to help connect & showcase those within the Holistic Health & Fitness industry while simultaneously providing you guys with some awesome tools to improve your own health! So for March I interviewed naturopathic student Antonia Repper. I recently met Antonia when we traveled to Mumbai, India together to study at the integrated health & homeopathic clinic, The Other Song. Meditation in India

Things I’ve learned while in India: 1. monkey’s are incredibly viscous 2. when you enter a cab you are truly taking life into your own hands & 3. my meditation skills are less than underwhelming. Seriously you guys, I can NOT sit still. I was either listening to the birds outside, thinking about blog ideas, or fidgeting around… my roommate literally had to hold my hands down at one point. …so not zen… To be fair, I’ve never actually meditated before & I’m told by my travel friends that it’s a learned practice & takes time. BUT it is something that I want to start incorporating into my everyday life!  (more…)

My 3 Favourite At-Home Cardio Workouts

As some of you may know, I’ve spent the past two weeks undergoing clinical training & attending homeopathy workshops in INDIA! Although it was an incredible & extremely rewarding experience (post coming soon), I found myself absolutely craving exercise the entire time …a girl can only eat so much naan without a means to work it off… To say that I feel bloated would be a gross understatement. So I immediately switched on my laptop – side note: immediately” actually means post twelve hour, jet-lag induced “nap”-  & completed one of my favourite online cardio workouts! Health Benefits of Your Holiday Favourites

What comes to mind when you think of the holidays? Spending quality time with family & friends typically rank at the top of the list, however a close second has to be the traditional holiday treats & feasts. Admittedly, the majority of  my holidays are spent eating a little too much & working out a lot less (leggings just so happen to be my very best friend during the holidays… well, any stretchy pant-like material really). Holiday food is the absolute BEST (I could practically drink cranberry sauce) & it’s even better because you get to enjoy it with your closest friends, family, & loved ones. The downside? Holiday feasts often contain a hefty amount of calories, so come New Years Eve I’m often struggling to squeeze into whatever outfit I have planned for the evening. Therefore I thought I’d list a few health benefits of some classic holiday favourites – so now you don’t have to feel so bad at the family dinner table!  😉 (more…)
