“There’s certain things in life that I love. One is architecture. And music, culture, food, people. New Orleans has all of that.”
Ditch the kale smoothies & perhaps a small portion of your dignity (mandatory for Bachelorette’s & double mandatory for Bourbon Street; but like… in a postive way), because I’m talking Big Easy Bachelorette vibes on the blog today!!! If you do plan on venturing down to our friends in the South anytime soon – Side Note: MAJOR emphasis on friendly, you’ll meet some of THE nicest people there – you NEED to read my tips & tricks on visiting the Jazz Capital of the good ol’ U S of A! Enjoy! (more…)
“May your Bachelorette Party be so fun that you don’t notice how annoyed the rest of the bar is”
PSA: prior to delving into this weeks’ post, please be aware that I’m working off of a grand total of three hours sleep – thanks to a 5:30am boarding time -, a layover sans ANY coffee whatsoever – I knew that I had a window seat beside strangers, & my tender bladder simply cannot handle that kind of pressure – & a three hour drive back from the airport. AKA – If a mere 30% of this post is somewhat readable I will be EXTREMELY okay with that. So where was I travelling from exactly? Well if any of you follow me on Insta, you’ll know that I was just in New Orleans for one of my besties’ Bachelorette Parties; which I had the PLEASURE of planning because I just so happen to hold that exclusive title of MOH!!! Now seeing as this is my second consecutive year planning Bachelorette Parties, & am therefore now a self-proclaimed MOH GENIUS (bow down), I wanted to give the inside scoop on putting together the ultimate Bachelorette Party Swag Bag! Because these days it’s kind of a necessity – at least that’s what Instagram Photos are telling me! (more…)
“Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away”
Folks… I am Big Easy bound for the long weekend, & I could NOT be more excited about it! Truth be told, New Orleans has always been on my “wanderlust” radar so when on of my recently ring’ed up girlfriends suggested we go for her Bachelorette, I was MORE than on board! Now because I have this utterly relentless need to share/document almost every minute detail of every event in my life… I naturally felt it necessary to share some of my NOLA airport essentials with all of you today! Which I’m sure many of you (I hope) will find useful considering the May Long Weekend is a biggie in the travel department! (more…)
Happy Mother’s Day to EVERY mom! I hope that you’re all currently getting ridiculously spoiled by those you love the most! If you still need a little bit of inspo for what you want to do today, here’s my post on Mother’s Day Tea Essentials & here’s my post on Last Minute Gift Ideas (which, for those of you reading… I REALLY hope you don’t need :P)!!! Enjoy the rest of your day!
“Why Use Social Media? Marketing is no longer about the stuff that you make, but about the stories you tell”
Okay so as IF I actually needed to say this but Social Media is HUGE – I know, I know… I have developed quite the penchant for stating the obvious but it has literally spawned into this seemingly undying force of nature that shows absolutely zero signs of slowing down anytime soon! And thank actual GOODNESS because it just so happens to be, oh I don’t know, my whole entire life & career!! Now while most people automatically assume that a good 99.9% of my job consists of sitting on Twitter all day whilst carefully curating modertaly witty Tweets (ahem… I’ll have you know it’s actually 96%), there IS quite a lot of depth & responsibilties that go along with the title of being a Social Media Coordinator/Blogger – the most fun? Hosting &/or attending Social Media Influencer Events! SO having just recently hosted an Influencer Event at Ambrosia Natural Foods, I thought I’d give the low-down on tips for both hosting & attending an event such as this! ENJOY! (more…)
“Blood is thicker than water, but maple syrup is thicker than blood. So technically pancakes are more important than family”
A couple of weekends ago, I was the absolute LUCKIEST girl in the world, & got to spend my first of two birthday weekends making maple syrup up at the cottage! The sun was shining, the Caesars flowing and the sap was a bubblin’ – it honestly couldn’t have been more quintessentially Canadian if I had tried and it was just perfect with a capital “P”! And I finally got to reap the rewards of all of my hard, maple syrup making labour the other day when I made my very own maple syrup candy – of which I’m sharing with all of you today! Full disclosure: when I say “hard labour”, I actually mean that I stirred the sap twice, and then promptly returned to my ceasar and observed the rest of said maple syrup making session! (more…)
“Living on Earth is expensive. But it does provide a free trip around the sun”
Greetings my fellow Earthlings & Happy Earth Day to you all! For the past few days now I’ve totally been racking my brain in a somewhat desperate attempt to drum up SOME form of content worthy of commemorating the place that we all get to call home… AKA EARTH AKA Kind of a big deal. Now while I could have mindlessly listed off various, pretty “nature places” in & around the GTA for all of you to frolic & – let’s be real – take millions of Insta-worthy photos, I thought that it would be much more conducive to the literal survival of our entire species to share a few ways we can go green every day of the year! Because snaps for mankind. Enjoy lovelies! (more…)
It’s almost time to bust out that green thumb my friends! Today on the Ambrosia Blog, I’m sharing some of my favourite gardening essentials – from the organic seeds, to the natural fertilizer & what to store them in before transferring your herbs & veggies to the outdoors! Click HERE to read!
“Photographs open doors into the past, but they also allow a look into the future”
I think it’s safe to say that me being neurotic about photos would be a gross understatement – heavy emphasis on both “gross” and “understatement”. And when the time eventually comes where I’ll have to book a photographer for some of life’s major milestones… I can’t even imagine, nor do I want to, the amount of stress & annoyance I will inevitably place upon both myself & those nearest & dearest to my heart. Looking for a photographer within your budget, taste & availability is HARD, so when I was approached by Leanne Ferguson, founder of the new Canadian based, photography app Galaxy Photoz Inc to collaborate, I knew that I immediately had to accept! Why? Because the service that this particular app provides will literally save my future self & the poor souls that will have to deal with me, a whole HECK of a lot of grief! (more…)
