2017 Fall & Halloween Bucket List

“The only thing getting lit this weekend are my fall scented candles”

Okay, I know, I know.…. I’ve done literally a MILLION Bucket List posts on both this blog & the Ambrosia Blog but truth be told I’m kind of OBSESSED with them! SUE ME. Also, to be honest, this week has been a bit taxing in terms of deadlines & workloads so a short n’ sweet Bucket List blog post is literally just about ALL I have time for, & can handle this week! So thanks in advance for bearing with me my lovely little readers! I promise to be a tad bit more innovative & creative next week 🙂 (more…)

10 Things you NEED to try in Haliburton

“I’m lost at the lake, don’t bother me”

To be QUITE frank, ever since making the “big move” to Toronto, I’ve discovered that I am undeniably, one hundred percent NOT a city girl. Having grown up as a bright eyed, sheltered gal from the burbs, I’d always been WILDLY envious of my Torontonion counterparts when they would describe big city life as vibrant, colourful or going so far as to suggest that it makes them “feel alive“. So I’m sure you can only imagine the shock & disappointment I felt when I discovered that running through the 6ix with my woes is simply not all it’s cracked up to be. Thanks for nothing, Aubrey. If anything, the only reason I’ve ever felt more “alive” in this city is because I’m now acutely in tune with my own mortality. Bleak, I’m aware – but let’s just say that my experience here has been very Gotham City rather than Sex & the City. I’m sorry fellow city dwellers, Toronto DOES have an undeniably amazing culture & social scene… but I tried, & the city life is just not for me! Canada Day Cottage Essentials

“If a Canadian falls in the forest & no one is around… does he/she still apologize?”

Ps. The answer is undoubtedly always yes. HAI there my fellow crazy Canucks! What are your plans to celebrate the big “150” this weekend? I personally plan on commemorating this special occasion by planting my pretty little keister in a Muskoka Chair lakeside, with a ceasar in one hand & a…. oh heck, who am I kidding – with a ceasar in the other one too… because obviously. Well, considering lakeside Northern escapes are kind of our jam here in the Great White North, I felt it apt to share a few of my favourite beach/dock/pool essentials – however I’ve tailored them slightly to accommodate Canada Day celebrations!!!! Enjoy, & have a happy Canada Day!!!!  (more…)

Wedding Season Roundup

“We are all a little weird & life’s a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them & fall in mutual weirdness & call it love”

Dr. Seuss

Guys – I’m going to keep this one short & sweet. Primarily because I have been staring helplessly at this screen for the past hour in a desperate attempt to drum up some form of witty, “charm-your-pants” off type of intro – Spoiler Alert: the word “dismal” seems far too optimistic an adjective to describe just how swimmingly this is going. It’s now midnight, my head is killing, & I’m doing my best to not completely freak out over the seemingly endless mountain of looming deadlines I have to meet prior to leaving for Paris this Friday. It’s been one heck of a long week to say the least. Anyways – I’m being a major Negative Nancy – so for those of you who weren’t completely turned off by my “whine fest” & decided to stick it out, well A. good for you, & B. I’m rounding out all of my my favourite wedding posts! Because despite all of my doom & gloom – it’s wedding season; there are some serious love-sick puppies out there & I’ll be damned if I deprive them of their right to bask in all of the wedding glory.

**** Ugh – this intro was neither short or sweet. Let alone witty & charming – just read the roundup… & then lets all collectively forget this post ever happened. Kay? Kay. **** (more…)

Airport Essentials

“Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away”

Frank Sinatra

Folks… I am Big Easy bound for the long weekend, & I could NOT be more excited about it! Truth be told, New Orleans has always been on my “wanderlust” radar so when on of my recently ring’ed up girlfriends suggested we go for her Bachelorette, I was MORE than on board! Now because I have this utterly relentless need to share/document almost every minute detail of every event in my life… I naturally felt it necessary to share some of my NOLA airport essentials with all of you today! Which I’m sure many of you (I hope) will find useful considering the May Long Weekend is a biggie in the travel department!  (more…)

CycleBar’s Canadian Grand Opening

“You’re only one spin class away from a good mood”

I am a bona fide “fitness class” connoisseur. Working out to a perfectly curated, 80’s rich playlist whilst executing various movements in complete synchronicity with a group of total & utter sweaty strangers is just my absolute jam. Side Note: I say this without any ounce of sarcasm whatsoever; I am one hundred & ten percent serious. So I’m sure that you can only imagine JUST how entirely excited I was when I was asked to attend the Canadian Grand Opening of CycleBar in Leaside a couple of weeks ago! BEST INVITE EVER! (more…)
